Mah Book! Margaret of Thibodaux
Novel Coming Out March 18, 2025, available for pre-order now (link below)
Pre-order Kindle (Amazon) here. This week and next week are book posts, then we will return to our regular programming.
Thanks to all of you who voted in my cover poll a few weeks ago.
As you can see, different cover. Although the story is about a 14 year old girl in 1974, it’s geared toward adults and I will not be marketing it as YA. If young folks want to read it, awesome, but I think grownups that remember 1974 are my target audience.
Also, unrelated warning—I’ve discovered how to add emoji’s (Control/Command/Space) and other formatting magic, so you all will be subject to my excesses for a few posts.
I need to talk about MOT (Margaret of Thibodaux—pronounced TIB-uh-doh—hereafter referred to as MOT) for a few reasons:
I’m kinda excited
But I’m calm
But I’m excited
I’d like for folks to be interested enough to
Buy it and read it
That’s it. Nothing fancy. 🐣
See—told you I found out how to include emoji’s. I digress.
Most people have no idea the amount of work that goes in to creating and publishing a novel. It’s a lot. So anytime you finish a big, multi-year project, you are generally kind of excited.
That’s me at the moment. 🤪
Thanks for reading all my disparate stuff. Hope you like reading Margaret. A link to buy will be sent out on the day it publishes and the footer will contain links for the forseeable future, but here’s a trade review I just received:
“. . . Southern Gothic elements and evocative prose makes for a haunting yet deeply human coming-of-age story. At its heart, Taylor’s fiction debut is a story about true friendship, accepting cultural differences, and the unpredictable ways grief shapes—and ultimately frees—us.”
Takeaway: Moving coming-of-age about grief, blended with Gothic mystery.
Comparable Titles: Sue Monk Kidd’s The Invention of Wings, Jesmyn Ward’s Sing Unburied Sing.

I’m pretty happy with this review.
I promise not to beat you about the head and shoulders with it—but if you do read MOT will you please write a review yourself? I appreciate it.
Peace and love,
Jo
